Seeking a Residential Care Case Manager (Care Leader)
MANAWISE Care is currently offering a significant leadership opportunity for an individual who are passionate about effecting positive change in the lives of young people in care, while also demonstrating leadership and mentorship capabilities.
We are seeking a Care Leader to join our team in Brisbane, specifically focusing on residential out-of-home care. As a Residential Care Leader, you will report to the Area Manager and possess a strong commitment to the overall well-being and development of the children and young individuals under our care. In addition, you will lead a team of dedicated Youth Workers (Care Practitioners), acting as an advocate for the youth and ensuring the provision of high-quality residential care and life-skill support.
You will be passionate about supporting staff, children, and young people in care to thrive. This role is important in leading a dedicated team of Residential Youth Workers/Care Practitioners to maintain effective practices, professional and cultural identity along with informed approaches in their work. The Care Leader ensures that quality and safe residential care services are provided throughout our range of programs.
Responsibilities:
- Induct, onboard, and train Youth Work staff to fulfill their role objectives.
- Coach and mentor Youth Work staff to facilitate their professional growth and excellence.
- Provide supervision and create development plans for Youth Work staff to drive continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders.
- Fulfill reporting requirements related to both the young individuals and the staff.
- Oversee case management and track progress in various domains for children and young people.
- Prepare Safety Plans and Positive Behaviour Support plans.
- Develop rosters while ensuring compliance with relevant awards, service agreements, and cost-effectiveness.
- Fill in shifts as necessary.
- Provide support to Youth Workers through participation in the after-hours on-call roster.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading teams within programs dedicated to caring for vulnerable individuals with complex needs. It is essential to possess a strong desire to enhance the skills of the team and empower them to deliver best practices. Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial, as the role involves advocating for young people and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels. Prospective candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Child Protection Act 1999 and the impact of trauma on young individuals. Other essential requirements include:
- A valid QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card).
- A Diploma or higher qualification in a recognized field.
- A valid driver’s license without any restrictions.
- A national police check or the ability to obtain one.
- A First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
- Licensed Care Services (LCS) or the ability to obtain the necessary certification.
- Completion of the Hope and Healing training.
