The Opportunity
Implementation of the various recommendations following the Family Violence Royal Commission requires resources, dedicated skills and expertise. The work is complex and requires practice wisdom to support the translation of new systems and processes.
Maintaining a vigilant approach to practice development and continuous improvement is the responsibility of all leaders in the team, however, a dedicated resource to manage and monitor the progress of reform implementation is critical.
The Practice Development Leader is based within the Northern Region but provides support to programs across the organisation. The successful applicant will be based in the Eaglemont office but will be required to travel to multiple offices across the state on a regular basis. It is envisaged that this role would visit the Ballarat office weekly.
Berry Street have committed to embedding David Mandel’s Safe and Together Model across the organisation, with an initial focus on the Family Violence and Family Service Programs. This role will lead the implementation of the S&T model across Berry Street.
The role will also be responsible for leading a range of other practice development initiatives across the family violence (and family services) program areas.
Key Responsibilities
The Safe and Together Coordinator is a key role based in the Northern Region of metropolitan Melbourne. The role is responsible for coordinating the training and business plan implementation of the Safe and Together model training streams including Core, One Day Overview and Communities of Practice.
This role will be responsible for:
- Developing the Safe and Together training calendar 2023
- Responding to requests for training from internal and external stakeholders within metro- Melbourne and Regional Victoria
- Building relationships and liaising with the Safe and Together Institute
- Coordinating trainers to deliver training
- Holding the lead trainer position in Core and One Day Overview S+T training
About You
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, welfare or a related discipline.
- Certified trainer in Safe and Together framework
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced record keeping skills.
- Experience in training delivery.
- Expert knowledge and experience working within the family violence sector and Safe and Together Model.
- Experience in providing high quality training to staffing groups; including creating presentations and training materials.
- Demonstrated experience in managing invoices.
