School Chaplain Mentone Girls’ Grammar School

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role

Established in 1899, Mentone Girls’ Grammar is an independent, Anglican school for girls catering for students from Early Learning Centre through to Year 12.

The School Chaplain position has become available, as the School is preparing to farewell our current incumbent, who will be retiring at the end of the 2022 academic year.  Under their spiritual guidance, they have nurtured and sustained the Christian ethos of the School and enhanced the spirituality and wellbeing of our School Community.  Applications are now invited for this key position at Mentone Girls’ Grammar.

Reporting to the Principal, Ms Natalie Charles the School Chaplain will be an ordained Minister of the Anglican Church who will share an appreciation for the importance of interfaith dialogue; the protection of an inclusive and diverse community and the tenets of a liberal, humane educational proposition in pursuit of the existential and transcendent.

At the heart of this role will be a School Chaplain with a demonstrated personal commitment to the promotion of the Christian vision, mission and values of the School.  They will support the Spiritual Life of the School by developing Christian life, worship and understanding among students and have a natural ability to establish meaningful and authentic relationships, and strengthen community connections between the School and local Anglican parishes.

The successful candidate will be available to commence in late January 2023 and it is anticipated that there will be opportunities during the latter part of 2022 for the appointed candidate to visit the School and receive a handover.
