All Saints Catholic Primary School is a Catholic Reception – Year 6 Primary School with 554 students and is part of Catholic Education South Australia, in the Archdiocese of Adelaide.

Position Requirement
This is a permanent position, working 32.5 hours per week over 40 weeks of the year, with 10 weeks off during non-term time. The Contract will commence on the 19th of January 2024.
Role Details
The School Counsellor supports school leadership through the application of specialist professional knowledge and strategies to identify and address student issues in order to promote student safety, wellbeing, and to facilitate successful learning.
The School Counsellor, as a qualified professional, works with school leaders, staff, families and external agencies to support the wellbeing of students and provide confidential counselling to students including where emotional, social or scholastic matters. The School Counsellor forms a vital part of the support services available to students.
Duties:
- Manage referrals from students, parents/caregivers and teachers.
- Counselling support of students with social, emotional, psychological or intellectual concerns.
- Responsible for interventions with students experiencing difficulties.
- Provide information, resources and assistance for students, families and staff to access community supports.
- Assist with crisis intervention.
- Work with staff to develop, review, evaluate and implement programs and intervention strategies as required.
- Maintain ongoing professional development as required, relevant to the professional position of School Counsellor.
The successful applicant will have:
- Extensive experience and knowledge of counselling theories and practices.
- Demonstrate a vision and passion for the education and wellbeing of all children.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Catholic Identity.
- Current and acceptable Working with Children Clearance and screening to work in Catholic Education SA
- Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care Certificate.
- First Aid Certification.
