Cornish College is seeking to appoint a part-time School Counsellor or Psychologist to support our growing school community, supporting students, families and staff from our 3-year-olds in the Early Learning Centre to Year 12.

The successful applicant will form part of a team of staff supporting student welfare, wellbeing and inclusive education. 

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or counselling.  They should have experience working with children from early learning to senior years. The person will also need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work in collaboration with others.  It is essential that confidentiality and respect for parent/children privacy is maintained

We are looking for applicants who have an outstanding record in building relationships with students, parents and staff and desire to make a difference in and beyond schools.

All general staff at Cornish College are required to have: 

  • Current First Aid Level 2 qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • National Criminal Record Certificate
  • Working with Children’s Check for Employment purposes
