About MLC School

Founded in 1886, MLC School is an independent, nonselective Uniting Church school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 in Sydney’s inner-west. Our tagline ‘dare to be more’ is not only our goal for our students, it applies equally to our staff.

About the position
As the School Counsellor, you will provide confidential and professional counselling service to students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 for a wide range of wellbeing concerns, including social, emotional and academic needs.

You will play an integral part in fostering the wellbeing of students through a proactive and supportive counselling approach. You will work in collaboration with the Counselling Team as well as the Leadership and Pastoral Care teams to encourage and promote student wellbeing at MLC School.

The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications and experience working with children and adolescents in the provision of counselling support within a school environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Ability to work with students across Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, 4-18 years old age range
  • Experience as a skilled and committed School Counsellor with proven experience in supporting the wellbeing of young children through effective diagnosis, counselling and other suitable forms of engagement
  • Working with Children Clearance
