The Role

Permanent part-time (0.8 FTE), Preference being: Mon, Tues, Wed or Thur, and Fri

Abbotsleigh seeks an experienced part-time Registered Psychologist with a membership of AHPRA to join the team of professional colleagues within Junior School and the wider Wellbeing and Counselling team of Abbotsleigh. The counselor appointed will work across the Junior School campus (Early Learning Centre, Transition and Kindergarten through to Year 6) to best meet the holistic needs of girls, staff, and parents.

The Duties

The School Counsellor guides young people to realise their full potential, through an interest in, and empathy towards girls ranging in age from Early Learning to Year 6 by using a wide knowledge of available resources. The role requires liaison between girls and staff and the development of close working relationships with those with key roles in Wellbeing teams. In addition to providing support and guidance to those in crisis, the Counsellor will assist with providing practices such as resilience building, time management and study skills.
