School Counsellor/Psychologist

 

  • Commencing as soon as possible or Term 1, 2023
  • 0.8 FTE – Fixed term until October 2023
  • Parental leave replacement with possibility of permanent extension 

Mentone Grammar is a K-12 co-educational School.  The School is structured into 5 campuses on one site – Eblana (Kinder to Year 4), Riviera (Years 5 and 6), Bayview (Years 7 and 8), Greenways (Year 9) and Frogmore (Years 10 to 12). 

We are seeking a qualified School Psychologist to provide a high-quality counselling service to students (ELC – Year 12) and offer support, guidance and advice to families and staff in matters relating the wellbeing of our students.

To be successful in this exciting role you will: 

• Have proven competence in working with students providing counselling, assessment, appropriate intervention, case management, liaison, and referrals

• Provide support and guidance to staff and families for targeted programs for students

• Demonstrate your capability to work collaboratively with and provide expert advice to the broader student wellbeing teams, colleagues, school communities, external agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Ability to maintain appropriate records (including digital) and ensure compliance with professional guidelines of record keeping and confidentiality. 

• Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a collaborative team and have a good sense of humour.

 

Mandatory requirements:

• Registration as a Psychologist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 

• Eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS)

• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory

• Experience working in the Education sector would be highly advantageous
