JOB DESCRIPTION

Wilderness School is a non-denominational day and boarding girl’s school educating students from Early Learning Centre through to Year 12. Since 1884, Wilderness School has prepared girls to be adventurous, courageous, responsible, and respectful learners and leaders. At Wilderness, we strive to enable each student to be the best that she can be.

We have a wonderful opportunity for a School Counsellor to commence in January 2023.

The Role:

The School Counsellor is a key member of the pastoral team, who works collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to provide a comprehensive and professional counselling service to students, families and staff. The School Counsellor supports and guides students with overall wellbeing enhancing their ability to adapt, be resilient and learn.

You will have:

  • Professional qualifications in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology enabling professional registration.
  • Demonstrated experience providing counselling services to teenagers and younger children.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the academic and wellbeing needs of students as these relate to the learning and personal growth outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, the ability to relate effectively and build highly effective relationships.
