School Psychologist/Social Worker | Permanent Part – Time | Commencing Term 1,2023
Purpose
We are seeking a motivated, experienced registered Psychologist/ Social Worker to join our Wellbeing Team in a permanent part time capacity in 2023. You will work with our School Psychologists, Year Coordinators, Deputy Principal: Wellbeing Team to support our students, parents, and teachers.
Our School Psychologist / Social Worker is a key member of the Wellbeing Team at Hills Grammar. The role provides counselling and educational development within the School and its community working with students experiencing psychological, social, behavioural or emotional difficulties.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Suitably qualified Psychologist or Social worker holding registration with the Professional body.
- Experience in assessing and facilitating interventions for children and adolescents for cognitive, emotional and social needs.
- Demonstrated expertise in using evidence-based practices.
- Ability to adapt and remain calm in emergency situations.
- Capacity to deliver professional learning to staff and wellbeing programs to students and parents.
- Experience working with adolescents in a mental health setting is desirable.
- Demonstrated awareness of, and capacity to manage the legal, ethical and organisational requirements of a counselling role within an educational setting.
- Understanding of and capacity to enact child protection legislation requirements and guidelines as they apply to schools.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Professional with high ethics when working with staff, students and their families.
