Applications for the following maternity leave contract position to commence in October 2023 and end in July 2024.

 

School Psychologist

Maternity Leave Contract

Fixed Term, Full Time

October 2023 – July 2024

Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm

 

The School Psychologist is required to focus on student wellbeing and work collaboratively to promote and foster the development and mental health of all students.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To provide Counselling to students and their families Pre-prep to Year 12
  • To work closely with the psychologist team (2 other part time psychologists) and student welfare team
  • To liaise with staff to ensure holistic support for students and devise and deliver preventative mental health programs
  • To provide risk and safety assessments
  • To provide referrals for students to the appropriate external health professionals
  • To maintain accurate and up to date notes and files

 

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

  • Formal qualifications at Degree level in psychology with post-graduate qualifications in educational psychology, child and adolescent psychology, student counselling or school psychology desirable
  • Experience working in a school environment, with adolescents or liaising with schools an advantage 
  • Psychologists require evidence of general registration with Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Current First Aid, CPR and Mental Health First Aid Qualifications or willing to obtain prior to commencement  
  • Occasional after hours work such as evenings and weekends may be required due to the School being a Boarding School
