Perth Waldorf School invites applications for a School Social Worker/Chaplain/Psychologist/Youth Worker/Wellbeing Officer (1FTE) Full-time, Commencing ASAP
The Perth Waldorf School teaches students from Kindergarten to Class 12 according to the indications of Rudolf Steiner. Steiner’s curriculum is holistic, creative and structured beautifully to meet the needs of young people at their stage of development.
We are seeking the services of a motivated and dedicated person to work alongside our Student Support team to provide care and support for students from Classes 7 to 12. In addition, you will need to constructively engage with anthroposophy, the Steiner curriculum and the school ethos and collaboratively deliver opportunities for personal growth to young people attending our School.
The successful candidate will love a role where they can demonstrating a keen interest in young people and have an ability to foster relationships with teens to coach them towards wellbeing and productive outcomes. This will include supporting vulnerable young people who may present with complex needs. You will keep an eye on student attendance, case manage students and offer staff development and support in a professional but also highly engaging way. An ability to work holistically, show empathy and work in highly sensitive environments and situations is necessary. The successful candidate will positively impact young people’s lives and provide them with appropriate professional referrals where needed. The ability to maintain good boundaries so that you are not overwhelmed is vital.
