No to Violence (NTV) is Australia’s largest peak body for organisations that work with men that use violence providing training, sector development and advocacy across the sector that works with men who use violence. We also operate the Men’s Referral Service, providing a counselling service and referral pathways directly to men who use violence. As a pro-feminist organisation, women and children are at the centre of what we do – by ending men’s use of family violence, families, individuals and communities are safer.
About the role:
The role of NSW Sector Development Manager is to assist in further developing, improving, implementing and communicating NTV/MRS strategy, policies and NSW minimum standards ensuring adherence by the organisation and all other stakeholders/members within the male family violence sector.
The role is part of the Strategy and Communication Group and is very important in terms of ensuring that NTV/MRS sets the benchmark and continues to lead as a major peak body within the domestic and family violence sector. The role is vital in supporting the MBCN NSW members and other key stakeholders within NSW.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social, Public or Health policy, or other relevant discipline
- Knowledge of the NSW family violence sector and related reform agenda.
- Understanding of the dynamics and impacts of family violence in the Australian context
- Ability to critically evaluate evidence-based information and research findings relating to DFV and to incorporate this in the development of policies and briefing papers.
- Proven networking, stakeholder engagement and consultation skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear and considered policy positions and advocacy strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present to and facilitate groups.
- Proven abilities in writing high quality reports/other documents on family violence, practice guidance or policy matters.
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver quality work deliverables within defined timelines
- DESIRABLE: Experience in education or professional advisory work within the field of men’s family violence.
