In this role you will:
- Support implementation of offender services in accordance with endorsed models and contracts with external providers
- Monitor the delivery of offender services state-wide and promote continuous improvement in service delivery
- Coordinate quality assurance processes for the delivery of offender services
- Conduct and assist with regular site visits to support service design integrity and monitor adherence to the relevant performance and outcome indicators
- Monitor the delivery of offender services to ensure quality and relevance particularly to priority groups such as women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, youthful offenders and offenders with a disability
- Develop and provide staff training regarding offender services
- Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge and skill in the offender services and the broader rehabilitation fields
- Assist with the preparation of strategic advice, correspondence and reports on offender services and their delivery within the Agency
- Research and analyse offender service practices and methods
- Provide timely advice to key stakeholders relating to new developments in the area of offender service
- Prepare significant reports and provide timely advice
- Support contractors and staff in dealing with complex offender service situations or requirements, and provide assistance to resolve service delivery issues
- Identify and respond appropriately to emerging risks in offender service delivery including appropriate liaison with the Principal Adviser and Manager Re-entry Services as well as operational site management as required
- Develop and maintain collaborative internal and external relationships
- Provide information to support collaborative relationships with Custodial Operations and Community Corrections, other sections of the Agency, contracted service providers and the community sector
- Engage in effective, open, two-way communication with all external service providers delivering both in custody and community settings
- Maintain knowledge of work activities and practice issues impacting the operational delivery of offender services
