The Court Integrated Services Program (CISP) is a front-end diversion program which offers a coordinated approach to the assessment and treatment of accused at the pre-trial or bail stage. It provides case management support and links participants to support services such as drug and alcohol treatment, crisis accommodation, disability services and mental health services. CISP aims to improve treatment, court, sentence, and re-offending outcomes for program participants by providing regular case management support and links to health and social care services. Historically CISP has only been available in the Magistrates’ Court of  Victoria, however this program has been funded for an 18-month pilot in the County Court of Victoria.

The Senior AOD Counsellor will provide high quality engagement, assessment, counselling, and support services to participants of the County Court CISP Pilot. This role will provide support, referrals, secondary consultation, and liaison with CISP advanced case managers, County Court staff and Judges. The position has a focus on utilising diverse evidence based therapeutic frameworks to address problematic substance abuse and links with offending behaviour.

The position will be working from home and providing services virtually to participants due to COVID-19 restrictions and will transition back to onsite face to face delivery as per Victorian Government advice.
