Senior AOD Worker – WHOS Hub Day Program

Nepean Blue Mountains

 

We Help Ourselves (WHOS®) is one of the largest alcohol and other drug Non-Government Organisation treatment providers in Australia. We offer a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic and support programs and services to benefit individuals with substance dependence and associated issues. 

 

The Senior AOD Worker will be required to:

  • Provide effective leadership for a small team of 4-5 staff
  • Experience in case management, staff training and support 
  • Ability to support staff to achieve their position and service related KPI requirements

 

Experience in: 

  • Working with clients that have substance dependence and associated issues
  • Information management systems including electronic client file and data management systems 
  • Written communication skills and the ability to support the coordinator in with reports focusing KPIs required by the funders
  • AOD or related qualifications

 

Essential:

  • 3 years’ experience working in AOD, mental health or related field
  • Experience leading a team
  • Networking experience
  • Good time management
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound computer literacy
  • NSW driver’s license and satisfactory driver declaration

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working in Day Programs or similar client centered approach services 
  • Sound knowledge of the Harm Reduction approach for AOD client group
  • Knowledge of AOD, health and human services in the Nepean Blue Mountains region

 

Remuneration: SCHADS Award Level 5. Pay point negotiated based on qualifications and experience.

Salary packaging available.

Please note this position is offered on a fixed term contract basis, based on funding continuation.
