Autism Partnership was established in 1998 and is dedicated to enhancing the overall quality of life of children and young people with autism by delivering comprehensive, evidence-based services. Autism Partnership provides a wide range of services for children and their families as well as training for professionals. Autism Partnership Australia has a team of more than 180 staff working across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
All of our programs are based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Little Learners and Little School are our centre-based intervention programs for children with autism, and provide early, intensive, behavioural intervention (EIBI) – the most effective and evidence-based educational approach for children with autism.
About the role
Autism Partnership has an exciting opportunity for a senior behaviour therapist to join us in the newly created role of Learning Specialist.
In this role you will:
- Provide an exemplary ABA therapy model for behaviour therapists on the team
- Support the behaviour analysts and other members of the child’s team in the delivery of a students learning program
- Understand each child’s program thoroughly and assist the behaviour analyst with clinical activities within scope of competence
- Be responsible for the day to day coordination of behaviour therapists on the client’s team, ensuring that therapy is delivered in accordance with the students learning goals
- Provide support to behaviour therapists through coordinating resource organisation, time management and preparation for team meetings
- Work closely with the behaviour analyst to prioritise team meeting agenda items
- Lead daily team meetings
- Provide training support for the transition of new behaviour therapists onto the team
- Ensure families receive daily communication from their team, including wellbeing information and that this information is in line with quality guidelines
- Lead and model a commitment to child safety, ensuring that the wellbeing and safety of all children is at the forefront of decision making across the team
- Lead and model a positive, solution focused team culture
We are seeking people who:
- Have demonstrated experience in a behaviour therapist position and are looking for their next challenge

- Are creative thinkers, with the ability to change styles based on individual student profiles
- Have the ability to remain calm throughout challenging student behaviour
- Are sensitive to challenges faced by families
- Are open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
- Have a strong work ethic underpinned by punctuality, excellent organisational skills and professionalism
- Can work independently
- Currently studying a Masters in ABA or working towards BCBA qualification advantageous
