About the role

This exciting new position will be responsible for supporting the development of clinical governance, safety and support structures for headspace National youth participation programs (visible.org.au), to facilitate program safety, and meaningful contribution in participation opportunities for young people. This role is ideal for an individual who has experience in using art and creativity to communicate about abroad range of mental health topics.

Who we’re looking for

Someone with significant expertise in youth mental health, a collaborative, supportive and continuous improvement approach along with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health discipline
  • Significant experience in the application of clinical practice in the mental health field, with significant exposure to work in early intervention for young people experiencing mental ill health and their families. This should include a level of clinical skill in assessment, case formulation and interventions.
  • Eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body:
    • Psychologists, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists are required to be fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
    • Social workers are required to be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Understanding of and experience supporting contemporary youth / lived experience participation activities, including facilitation and coordination of activities with young volunteers / young advocates
  • Experienced in the facilitation of group workshops both in person and online
  • A strong knowledge of the rationale, evidence and treatments for early intervention in youth mental health.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Satisfactorily undergo a headspace Police Check
  • Have proof of a Covid-19 vaccination in accordance with the headspace COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy and any Government directives
