The Senior Clinical Psychologist and Allied Health Lead is a newly established role that forms part of the leadership team for Maple Leaf House.

Remuneration: $130,930 – $138,631 per annum + Superannuation + Salary packaging
Location: Maple Leaf House – Hamilton NSW

 The Job: 

  • Maple Leaf House is one of two newly established specialist service hubs in NSW providing outpatient-based holistic care to young people to age 25 years who are transgender, gender exploring or experiencing gender dysphoria.  
  • We are a service provided through the John Hunter Children’s Hospital and have a dynamic multidisciplinary team. 
  • The Senior Clinical Psychologist Lead is a newly established role that forms part of the leadership team for Maple Leaf House. 
  • Reporting to Tracey Hamilton, you will lead an Allied Health team, including a diverse team, including psychology, Social Worker, Speech Pathology and Dietetics.
  • On-the-job training will be provided to build clinical skills in assessment and understanding the complexities of gender diversity and its impact on psychological well-being.  
  • We support relevant external training, which can be applied for through the appropriate channels. 
  • You will have the ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team as well as be able to work independently.  

 Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of the Allied Health workforce.   
  • You will have oversight as well as participate in day-to-day clinical service delivery. 
  • You will work with clients and their families to provide evidence-based psychological assessment and diagnostic evaluation.  
  • The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and the Management Team at Maple Leaf House will support you professionally. 

About you:  

  • Have a passion for clinical leadership. 
  • Are able to build relationships and manage workload and priorities such as providing clinical interventions, consultation, education, and research. 
  • Have an interest in trans and gender-diverse healthcare.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be vital to working in a dynamic environment with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
