Significant investment across Western Health has seen the completion of the new Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments, Fast-Track Units, Rapid Assessment Discharge Unit and Short Stay Unit in Sunshine Hospital and the new Footscray Hospital construction is well on the way.
The newly completed Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs hub at Sunshine hospital Emergency Department has resulted in new vacancies across all modalities and seen the creation of Senior Clinical Psychologist positions.
The Position
You will be an important part of a multidisciplinary team that encompasses Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs clinicians, social work and peer support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert consultation on psychological issues impacting the delivery of patient care within the MHAOD Outreach Service
- Guide patient engagement & treatment models
- Utilse your expertise to grow and educate future Psychologists
About You
Do you want to contribute to the Model of Care in a brand new unit? You will be passionate about patient first health care and have an up-to-date knowledge of issues, trends and government policies in the delivery of services in Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug.
Additionally you will have:
- A Masters or higher qualification in Clinical Psychology
- Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA and an Area of Endorsed Practice in Clinical Psychology
- Clinical experience working in a hospital or community setting
- Experience in crisis management/suicide prevention.
