JOB DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Lutheran Care. We are an energetic, forward thinking and values driven faith based not for profit organisation, providing support to people who need it most. Current programs include emergency relief, financial counselling, family support and education, foster care, housing and family shelter, homelessness services, and refugee services.

The Children’s Contact Service (CCS) program is one of the support services delivered through our Lutheran Care, Barossa Valley office. The Children’s Contact Service (CCS) program is a child safe, child focused service that provides a family friendly and safe environment to assist children in developing a positive, meaningful relationship or staying positively connected with the parent or family member that they do not reside with. The service provides supervised handover and contact visits at a safe and neutral venue.

This is where you come in!

We are looking for Senior Contact Facilitators to coordinate safe, secure and comfortable environments for children, parents and other family members utilising the Children’s Contact Service (CCS). This role also provides guidance and support to Contact Facilitators, including training and inducting new staff.

The role is based at our Barossa Valley office and will report to the Team Leader, Children’s Contact Service.

The duties of this role include:

  • Observe supervised contact visits and changeovers, recording factual (non-interpretive, non-judgmental) observational notes.
  • Assess the priority and provide appropriate responses to clients with behaviours that demonstrate high and complex needs.
  • Ensure all contacts and changeovers proceed as agreed and are in accordance with the conditions of any existing Court Orders or as identified during intake and assessment.
  • Write and review Access Summary Reports and submit to the Family Court of Australia within court determined timeframes.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully to engage and establish rapport with children, parents and family members and the CCS team members.
  • Plan and organise workload to achieve specified outcomes within set time frames including providing reports as required.

What’s in it for you?

Lutheran Care values all its staff by ensuring that they are well supported through paid maternity and paternity leave, an Employee Assistance Program, a free and confidential counselling service, access to internal and external training opportunities, annual staff conference, professional development days, annual volunteer celebrations and an innovative and caring culture.
