The Children’s Contact Service (CCS) program is one of the support services delivered through our Lutheran Care, Barossa Valley office. The Children’s Contact Service (CCS) program is a child safe, child focused service that provides a family friendly and safe environment to assist children in developing a positive, meaningful relationship or staying positively connected with the parent or family member that they do not reside with. The service provides supervised handover and contact visits at a safe and neutral venue.

We are looking for Senior Contact Facilitators to coordinate safe, secure and comfortable environments for children, parents and other family members utilising the Children’s Contact Service (CCS). This role also provides guidance and support to Contact Facilitators, including training and inducting new staff.
The role is based at our Barossa Valley office and will report to the Team Leader, Children’s Contact Service.
The duties of this role include:
- Observe supervised contact visits and changeovers, recording factual (non-interpretive, non-judgmental) observational notes.
- Assess the priority and provide appropriate responses to clients with behaviours that demonstrate high and complex needs.
- Ensure all contacts and changeovers proceed as agreed and are in accordance with the conditions of any existing Court Orders or as identified during intake and assessment.
- Write and review Access Summary Reports and submit to the Family Court of Australia within court determined timeframes.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully to engage and establish rapport with children, parents and family members and the CCS team members.
- Plan and organise workload to achieve specified outcomes within set time frames including providing reports as required.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a Working with Children Check, a NDIS Workers Screening Check as well as a current Safe Environments for Children & Young People certificate. You must hold a current and unrestricted South Australian Drivers License and possess a registered roadworthy vehicle available for work use (employees reimbursed for work travel). In addition, the successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or a medical exemption.
