Now, a bit about the role:  
Referred to within RSL Queensland’s Employment Program team as a Senior Employment Consultant you will support ex-defence personnel and/or their Partners to find meaningful and sustainable employment. The work done by this hard-working team has been recognised by the Prime Minister’s Veterans’ Employment Program awards in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 for Excellence in Supporting Partner and/or Veteran Employment.

We are looking for experienced professionals from an Employment Services, Career Development, Occupational Rehabilitation, Injury Management, Talent Acquisition or Recruitment background to join this fast-paced and fun team-oriented environment. As a senior member of this team, you will have previous experience in coaching and mentoring team members or previous leadership experience.
  
This position is based in our Fortitude Valley office with some work from home flexibility.

To be successful in your application, you will have the proven ability to:

  • Build relationships via phone with clients (Veterans and their family members) to understand their employment aspirations, and work with them to outline transferable skills for the civilian job market
  • Use previous experience to determine the appropriate level of job-seeking support services and/or provide referral pathways to vocational providers
  • Write customised and professional resumes and cover letters with attention to detail
  • Assist with interpreting and responding to key selection criteria and advise on the creation of LinkedIn profiles
  • Experience in transition to work programs (including apprenticeships and traineeships),
  • Providing pre-employment advice and guidance  
  • Provide coaching of interview techniques
  • Connect clients with suitable employers
