About the role:
Our well-known, not-for-profit client currently has a vacancy within their Family Services team that supports families experiencing difficulties that impact parenting and family life. As the Senior Family Services Practitioner, you will carry a caseload and provide support with a higher level of complexity through outreach case management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide outreach Family Services support to vulnerable children and families experiencing a diverse range of issues and increased level of complexity aligned with senior experience and skills
- Maintain an individual caseload and high standard of case file management
- Work flexibly and collaboratively with Child Protection, VACCA and other agencies while providing a needs and risk assessment and developing and implementing an integrated service response
- Support Team Leaders in managing workflow and support staff when Team Leaders are unavailable or absent
Skills and Abilities:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology and/or equivalent area
- Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Understanding of Child, Youth and Family Act 2005, Best Interest Framework and information sharing provisions
- Extensive experience in child and family services
- Experience in building networking opportunities and representing organisational values at local meetings and forums
- Excellent knowledge of a range of theoretical approaches relevant to working with infants, children, young people, and families – including but not limited to attachment theory, trauma-informed practice and infant mental health
