Your opportunity

  • To support the Mackay Mental Health Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team to deliver high quality clinical services and leadership as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve better health outcomes for clients with severe and persistent mental illness living within the community.
  • To deliver a high level of contemporary clinical management to the clients of the Mackay Mental Health Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team.
  • To provide professional leadership and support the Team leader in the coordination of all clinical services for the Mackay Mental Health Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team.

About the Team

AODS and Specialist Teams

The Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team (MIRT) delivers safe, high quality, intensive, integrated and evidence driven mental health care. Clinicians provide a responsive, assertive treatment and rehabilitation recovery orientated multidisciplinary service, aimed at improving the quality of life for clients with complex mental health needs who require intensive intervention in the community. MIRT assists in facilitating the development or re-engagement with meaningful life roles for clients, with an explicit belief that people can and do recover from mental illness. Clinicians provide developmentally appropriate, specialist mental health interventions and ongoing assessment for those clients who require higher intensity treatment and support to recover from mental illness. The team plan, co-ordinate and support a range of internal and external services with clients and their carers’. Clinicians work with clients and their networks to develop their sense of self efficacy, personal support systems and live independently to participate fully within their chosen community.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has six hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and four community health centres that employ more than 3,300 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
