headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. headspace has 108 centres across Australia in metropolitan, regional and remote areas, as well as online and phone support services through eheadspace. 

Sonder is the lead agency for headspace Adelaide, Edinburgh North, Marion and Onkapringa.

Hours: Full-Time (1FTE) 

FTE and contract breakdown: Please see below the contract break down as not all hours of the role have an on-going contract.     

  • 0.4FTE (2 days per week) on-going contract
  • 0.6FTE (3 days per week) maternity leave fixed-term contract until July 2024

Learn about the position:

The rewarding role of Senior Clinician is a key senior clinical position within headspace Edinburgh North, and plays a pivotal role in the overall leadership, management and integration of the service.

As our new Senior Clinician, you will be adept in leading a multidisciplinary team as an experienced and innovative professional with considerable knowledge and experience in youth mental health service delivery. You will oversee clinical programs and ensure that program resources are managed effectively and efficiently, in conjunction with the headspace Edinburgh North Clinical Lead. The Senior Clinician will also work collaboratively with key agencies in the community that are engaged in the treatment of young people and their mental health related issues.

As a Senior Clinician, you will also hold a case load of your own, providing clinical mental health services to young people accessing the service. 

 

Experience Requirements:

•    Proven experience at a senior clinical level within the area of mental health service delivery.
•    Experience in successfully leading a team of staff and working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation.
•    Demonstrated experience and expertise in:
– Evidence-informed interventions for young people with a broad range of mental health presentations
– Developmentally and age appropriate care for young people 
– Involving young people in their own care and inclusive practice principles
– Family inclusive practices
•    Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders

 

Qualification Requirements:

•    Social Workers – Registered member of the AASW and current Mental Health Accreditation
•    Psychologists –General or Clinical Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
•    Registered Nurses – Registered with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
•    Occupational Therapists – Registered with the Australian Association of Occupational Therapist and AHPRA
•    Current or willing to obtain a Working With Children’s Check
•    Safe Environments – Through Their Eyes Certificate (desirable but not required)
