Our Mental Health Drugs & Alcohol Service is entering a new phase of co-design of our service system with people who access our services and our wider community. About the facility
The Mental Health Therapy Services develops and provides individual and group peer support, specialist assessment, consultation and evidenced-based psychotherapies as part of consumer’s treatment within Barwon Health’s Community Mental Health services. This includes dedicated peer workers, allied health inputs, ASD services, comprehensive psychotherapy programs for personality disorders and/or a history of trauma, education on personality disorder, and a clinical psychology trainee program. The service contributes to increasing capacity across MHDAS to work with people with personality and trauma.
About the Role
As guided by the Lived Experience Discipline Lead and the Operational Manager of the Therapy Services team, the Senior Consumer Peer Worker will:
- Provide individual and peer support to people with a lived experience of mental distress who access therapy services
- Work collaboratively with therapists and peer workers to develop effective peer supports
- Provide supervisory input to peer workers and lead peer program development
This position plays a vital role in supporting the ongoing development of peer work, voice of lived experience in the tertiary mental health system, and integration within clinical services.
