Senior Psychologist for vibrant and growing practice The Sentient Agency

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sentient Professional Wellbeing (SPW) is a vibrant, growing psychology practice in the centre of Sydney’s CBD. We work with the full range of adult clinical presentations and in that sense much of what we do overlaps with other standard psychology practices. In addition, we are passionate about helping working professionals navigate the varied emotional and professional issues they face both in their personal and working lives.

While much of what we do might overlap with what is done in standard psychology practices, we take a broader view of our work as being part of the promotion of social justice, with a particular focus on mental health support for diversity, the animal welfare/ethical sector and supporting the wellbeing and effectiveness of working professionals. We are creative and use integrative approaches in a highly person-centred way while ensuring that what we do is built on a solid evidence base.

In our work with professionals, we draw upon emotion management techniques from Clinical Psychology and blend these with practical tips from Executive Coaching. In this regard, we help individuals navigate the intersecting issues they face in both their professional and personal lives.

Who are we looking for?

Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join our friendly and supportive team to take a leadership role in the practice to help it grow and evolve further. This is envisaged as a hybrid role with a mix of clinical work, supervision and the delivery of training for our younger practitioners. There is significant scope for further development and growth depending on individual interest. In addition, we are looking for the following:

  • AHPRA Psychologist registration (General/Clinical)
  • Experience with a variety of adult clinical presentations
  • Executive coaching experience or a background in a corporate setting would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Private practice experience is highly desirable
  • Experience delivering training and supervision would be desirable

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Full time role or 4 days minimum
  • Maintain high standards of psychological services and client engagement at SPW
  • Follow best practice guidelines for the maintenance of ethical and empirically supported assessment and treatment services
  • Maintain professional competencies through practice and professional development
  • Provide supervision and deliver training

Benefits

  • Fast growing Sydney CBD practice with a strong referral base
  • Flexible hours and the option to work from home on some days
  • Friendly and warm collegiate environment, with a strong focus on practitioner wellbeing
  • Opportunities for job diversity and professional growth with multiple paths to progression within the practice
  • Financial support for training provided
  • Individual and peer supervision provided
  • Training provided to expand skills into the Executive Coaching space if desired
• Competitive remuneration based on experience with profit sharing options
