Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.
Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital, located in Fairfield just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre. Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women’s unit.
About the Role:
Joining our friendly and supportive psychology team, this Grade 3 Senior Clinical/Forensic Psychologist will be based in a rehabilitation unit at Thomas Embling Hospital. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Senior Psychologist provides specialist assessment and intervention for adult patients (male and female) presenting with complex mental health and offending behaviour. issues. They also provide clinical supervision and support to other psychologists, supervise student/trainee placements, complete Court reports, offer consultation to other clinicians, and contribute to service improvement/development projects. There are also opportunities to be involved in psychology research projects within the hospital.

About You:
- You are committed to mental health consumer recovery.
- Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of quality, recovery-focused mental health care coupled with an awareness of the issues of care-delivery in forensic mental health.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a multidisciplinary health care environment, using well-developed interpersonal skills to achieve team goals.
- A demonstrated commitment to learning through analysis of own performance, engaging in clinical supervision and professional development, and a commitment to applying this knowledge to practice.
What you need:

Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery.

Strong clinical/forensic assessment and formulation skills coupled with demonstrable experience of providing evidence-based psychological interventions to address complex mental health and offending behaviour for adult male/female consumers

Registered as a Clinical and/or Forensic Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Masters or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited course or equivalent OR Doctoral qualification in Forensic Psychology from an APAC accredited course or equivalent.

Listed as a registered supervisor (or eligible for being so listed) with AHPRA.

Eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society.

COVID19 & Influenza Vaccination Evidence
Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status. The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-19.
