This exciting and newly created role within the child development service provides an opportunity for you deliver specialist child development services across the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service.

 To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated application of high-level knowledge, expertise and specialist skills in the field of paediatric, developmental psychology clinical practice and capacity within a multi-cultural context with a high proportion of First Nations people.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills and the ability to collaborate with and provide advice to colleagues and senior management regarding paediatric developmental clinical service development and business planning processes relevant to the delivery and development of occupational therapy services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change through quality and service improvement activities and provide strategic direction across the health service.

Requirements for the role:

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. Current registration as an Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) is mandatory.
  • Travel across the TCHHS will be a requirement of this position in commercial and/or light aircraft and 4WD vehicles.
  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70).
