Role Summary

This role is responsible for coordinating the assistance which is provided to our participants to help them build capacity and resilience.The role is also responsible for guiding and supervising the day-to-day activity for our Mainstream Capacity Building project and house, a grant-funded initiative which we are operating in Bunbury to support local participants who have a mental health diagnosis.

This role is being hired on a permanent full time basis and is based out of our Bunbury office.

Responsibilities and Duties

The support which is implemented and provided by our recovery coaches is designed to be robust and resilient, always taking the episodic nature of mental health into account. As a Senior Recovery Coach, you will play a key role in the organisation, implementation and ongoing reassessment of the mental health and recovery plans that we put in place with our clients. The role also takes responsibility for providing supervision and mentoring to the wider recovery coaching team and a handful of mental health community workers. This role is tasked with the encouragement of strong and respectful relationships, with the aim of supporting people with a psychosocial disability to achieve outcomes, whatever this looks like to each unique client.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

  • Possess or studying towards a tertiary qualification in a relevant area such as Social Work, Psychology or a Diploma/Cert IV in Mental Health
  • Has an understanding of the recovery model and mental health care planning
  • Will have a strong history of working with people with serious and persistent mental health conditions
  • Has a self-directed passion and drive for the mental health sector and can provide capacity-building activities for the people they support
  • A compassionate and collaborative approach to their work
  • Enjoys finding innovative and empathetic solutions to complex situations
  • Passionate about supervising and mentoring others for the benefit of clients
