What you’ll be doing
This is an exciting, once in a career opportunity to join the new statewide workforce pool known as ‘CRU’, the Central Resource Unit (CRU).
We are looking for a Senior Social Worker to provide specialist social work service to consumers and their carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with NSW Health policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.

Where you’ll be working
The CRU Social Worker workforce will be deployed to locations for anywhere between two and thirteen weeks to support short-term staffing needs. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of health settings when on deployment.

Selection Criteria
- A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Extensive post graduate experience working as a Social Worker in relevant clinical areas, including a demonstrated understanding of the health setting, complex health conditions and the impact on wellbeing
- Demonstrated experience in prioritizing a challenging and demanding workload; managing stressful situations; and applying advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or critical nature
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision and expert advice/consultation to the social work service and the clinical specialty
- Current drivers’ licence with capacity and willingness to travel to NSW Health business and service locations throughout NSW which will include overnight stays in regional/remote areas. These deployments will make up the majority of your time in the position
