The Position
St John of God Murdoch Hospital has an excellent reputation, benefits from being located in the fastest growing area of Perth and is conveniently positioned next door to the State’s flagship Fiona Stanley Hospital.
To support the hospital’s commitment to ensuring our caregivers deliver quality patient care and an excellent patient experience, we are seeking a committed and motivated Senior Social Worker to join the Allied Health team.
As Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing professional evidence-based Social Work services to patients, their families and carers, offering a range of support and interventions. You will also be responsible for providing consultation and support to medical, nursing and allied health professionals within the hospital, whilst demonstrating positive role modelling and leadership.
This position is being offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 76 hours per fortnight.
The successful candidate will have:
- A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
- A degree in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of AASW or Society of Professional Social Workers.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving
- Recent extensive social work experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, including aged care
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary health care environment and apply evidence based and quality improvement principles using professional knowledge at an advanced practise level.
- Knowledge of the ACHS National Standards or equivalent (desirable)
