JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

At UnitingCare we care for and support children, young people and their families across Queensland to live safe, healthy and productive lives through the delivery of services that are flexible and responsive to their individual needs.

We are currently seeking a Service Leader to join our Foster and Kinship Care Program, Rockhampton, on a permanent full-time basis to support outreach and in-home support to children with complex support needs.

In this position you will coordinate the day to day operations of our residential care service for young people living in out of home care. Supplementing this you will ensure our service is adhering to practice and therapeutic frameworks to ensure quality outcomes for the young people we support.  

 

What you’ll need

You will have demonstrated experience working with children and youth within a therapeutic care environment who have suffered abuse or neglect and are on statutory child protection or juvenile justice orders. 

Supplementing this you will have strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build effortless rapport with young people who may demonstrate dissociative behaviours due to experiencing trauma. 

In addition to the above you will have a tertiary education in human and/or community services (or relevant field), a current blue card (or be willing to obtain), an open QLD driver’s license, a senior first aid certificate and be willing to undergo a personal history check under the provision of child protection act 1999 in relation to licensing of care services.

Please note that our service operated 24/7 and will require you to be flexible to the requirements of the service within these hours.
