About the position
The Service Manager, South Western Sydney will be responsible for the operational oversight of a number of programs related to suicide prevention and aftercare including The Way Back Support Service (TWBS) and Clinical Suicide Prevention Service (CSPS). TWBS is a non-clinical assertive outreach support service that is focused on providing practical psychosocial support to people who have recently attempted suicide or are experiencing suicidal crisis. CSPS is a short-term support program that supports people after a suicide attempt or during a suicidal crisis.
The position will involve a high level of engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders including consumers, LHD services, NGO’s and General Practitioners.
The Service Manager reports to the Manager, Mental Health and leads the multidisciplinary team including Mental Health Clinicians, Support Coordinators and Peer Workers on a day-to-day basis to ensure efficient, effective, safe and high-quality consumer management and service delivery consistent with best practice guidelines.
This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2024 and is based in South Western Sydney.
We are looking for someone with:
  1. Qualifications as an allied health professional (e.g. psychologist, social worker, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, or Aboriginal mental health worker) and current registration with a relevant credentialling body such as AHPRA 
  2. Previous experience in a program management role and or health services management 
  3. Demonstrated leadership experience of a multidisciplinary team including planning for and delivering on team objectives and deliverables, monitoring and developing team and individual performance. 
  4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and consultation skills to work effectively with all stakeholders and achieve positive outcomes
