Psychologist – ($71,240.00 – $105,895.00 per annum)

What you’ll be doing:

IVPRS is seeking a level 2 clinician wishing to develop their trauma counselling skills within a supportive team that fosters ongoing professional development. The role will entail both crisis and traditional counselling interventions and will suit applicants with a desire to participate in a fast paced team with client centred values.
The Sexual Assault Counsellor is responsible for the provision of specialist therapeutic and case management services to adults and children who have been sexually assaulted or who are under the age of 10 years with problematic and sexually harmful behaviours, and their non-offending family members.
The Sexual Assault Service is aligned with Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) which develops policy and supports services for children, young people and adults who are victims of violence, abuse or neglect. Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Services (IVPRS) are responsible for strategic leadership, clinical service provision and capacity building for the portfolio areas of sexual assault, domestic violence, child protection and victims of crime.

Selection criteria to be addressed:
- Degree in Social Worker from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australia Association of Social Workers, or degree in psychology and if fully registered, evidence of registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics and effects of sexual assault and best practice models for working with children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual abuse/ trauma
- Demonstrated assessment, case management and counselling skills with children, young people and adults
- Demonstrated understanding of the intersection between issues of sexual assault, domestic violence and child protection
- Demonstrated experience working with people who have experienced interpersonal trauma
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge of Child Protection responding and reporting responsibilities
- Experience in, or commitment to, working with individuals and families from indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
