The Sexual Violence Counsellor position is located at our Ipswich office and is a 0.8 FTE (60hrs per fortnight with days and hours to be mutually agreed upon) fixed term contract until December 2023.
The Domestic Violence Action Centre (DVAC) works with individuals and communities to eliminate, prevent and respond to domestic and family violence, and sexual violence.

What do you bring to the team
- Live our values of Community, Action and Resilience.
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work or human services field.
- Well-developed experience and skills in counselling and therapeutic support.
- Knowledge and skills to ensure the provision of trauma informed services to clients;
- Committed to the National Standards for Child Safe Organisation
- A working knowledge of or the ability to acquire understanding of the Domestic & Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and knowledge of court and legislative proceedings as they relate to the Act
- Current driver’s license, Blue Card and Covid Vaccination certificate or medical exemption
