JOB DESCRIPTION

The Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Coordinator is responsible for leading the SEWB service day-to day-activities and supporting the team comprised of community connectors, social workers, counsellors, and case managers. 

The role will coordinate services including information and education, advocacy, external referrals, case management, coordinated care and group work. This service is based in Fitzroy Crossing and supports the communities across the Fitzroy Valley.

This position adheres to all MWRC policies and procedures, relevant national standards, and professional codes of conduct. Accommodation is provided if required.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Leadership and Management
Manage SEWB service delivery including but not limited to:
• Ensure the SEWB service is delivered in accordance with the SEWB framework, manual and processes.
• Provide leadership, support, clear direction and mentoring to SEWB workers.
• Ensure team wellbeing, supporting individual team member learning and development and facilitating a positive team culture.
• Advocate and champion approaches which promote continuous improvement in SEWB practice and pathways.
• Assist in induction and ongoing support of SEWB positions.
• Supervise SEWB staff, ensure review processes and program standards and contractual specifications are met.
• Conduct weekly SEWB meetings to monitor program performance.
 

Service Delivery 

Drive and monitor consumer outcomes including but not limited to:
• Along with the team, contribute to developing and implementing strategies to ensure the delivery of integrated and culturally responsive SEWB services that meet the needs of people living in the Fitzroy Valley.
• Establishing performance standards and targets for all areas of SEWB in accordance with the SEWB Service delivery processes and funding contract.
• Maintain and develop systems and process which support the SEWB framework and processes.
• Monitor and report on SEWB performance tasks in accordance with timeframes.
Stakeholder Engagement Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to:
• Promote the goals and objectives of the SEWB program internally and externally.
• Collaborate with MWRC programs for integrated service provision.
• Identify and manage ongoing relationships with stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders where appropriate and required.
Continuous Improvement Contribute to continuous quality improvement including but not limited to:
• Participation in accreditation, evaluation and ongoing monitoring of programs and services.
• Contribute to the continued development of relevant guidelines for SEWB including policies, manuals and forms.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Aboriginal Health, Mental Health, or other relevant qualification or equivalent work experience
• Experience using client record systems
• Experience coordinating team
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• Demonstrated experience or understanding of health and wellbeing issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including a demonstrated awareness of Aboriginal culture and history
• Valid Driver’s License, National Police Check, and Working With Children’s Check

Desirable
• Prior experience working in a remote Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community
• Previous experience working for an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
• Prior experience working in a related field, including Youth Work, Social and Emotional Wellbeing, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs.
