Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation has been operating since 2003 and is the second largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation in the Northern Territory.
Based in Katherine (only 3 hours’ drive from Darwin), Sunrise Health Service services 9 remote communities to the east of Katherine. We serve a population base predominantly Aboriginal, of approximately 3,800 people – many with chronic illnesses requiring early detection and amelioration.
Take responsibility in leading a team of mental health professionals to coordinate the delivery of the social emotional wellbeing programs across our 9 communities, working collaboratively with other Sunrise Health programs. This position will ensure culturally appropriate services are delivered in accordance with the project agreements and will be responsible for coordination of the service team in accordance with policies, procedures, standards, contracts, and legislation. The SEWB team is also responsible for collaborating with stakeholders in creating events to promote awareness.
We are looking for the next dedicated resource in our team and expect that the successful candidate holds a qualification in health promotion, leadership, governance and/or community development, experience working in remote communities with indigenous people, experience coordinating a team.
