Kalwun is an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation currently seeking to fill the following vacancy within our Health Services division. Kalwun Health Service delivers a primary health care service to the people of the Gold Coast & surrounding communities. 

Social & Emotional Wellbeing Program Manager – full-time position
Kalwun has a vacancy for a Social & Emotional Well Being Program Manager who is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing in the field of mental health and substance misuse of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. 

About The Role
The Program Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of multi-disciplinary staff and  leadership in the delivery of culturally appropriate clinic-based rehabilitation and support services in the areas of substance misuse and mental health, to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients across the Gold Coast service area.

About You

  • Experience in service management, design, development and establishment of services and programs in a primary care/community setting 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health services and commitment to the principle and practice of Aboriginal community control
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction, determine priorities and manage own workload in order to meet agreed timelines and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; a high level of skill – both verbal and written – in communicating with a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health, social and emotional wellbeing and service access needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Demonstrated ability to develop action plans and provide quality reports to Primary Health Network

Mandatory requirements

  • Current Qld Blue Card for Working with Children
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Qualification in relevant field or equivalent experience

Additional information

  • This position requires the successful applicant to satisfy a national criminal history check, hold a current drivers’ license and hold a blue card for working with children. The ‘No Card No Start’ law applies to this position – a blue card must be obtained prior to commencement.
