John Paul College invites applications from suitably qualified Social Justice / Outreach Support Workers (non teaching role) to assist in the development and implementation of programmes related to social justice / outreach within the wider school community.

Working closely with the Director of Faith & Mission, the Social Justice / Outreach Support Worker will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and organising the Community Companion Food and Outreach trailer.
  • Maintaining adequate staff volunteers and completing rosters for each term and school holidays for the Companion trailer.
  • Developing awareness of the work and needs of organisations supported under the Social Justice / Outreach Policy.
  • Connecting social justice initiatives at the College with Catholic Social Teaching and the mission of Catholic schools with staff, students and the broader community.

This is a part time (up to 20 hours per week), fixed term position which will commence as soon as possible. Please note to be considered for this role you need to be available to work from 4pm until 7.30pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening for activities involving the Companion Food and Outreach Van. You must hold a valid drivers licence and be comfortable towing and backing a large trailer.  The additional hours required are flexible and will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
