The Family Advocacy Support Service (FASS) aims to provide assistance to families affected by family violence (both alleged perpetrators and victims) as they move through the state and federal based court family court systems.
As a FASS Worker, you will provide specialist, expert advocacy, referral and support services to families affected by family violence (both alleged perpetrators and victims). Additionally, you will assist alleged male perpetrators to access appropriate support services including parenting programs and men’s behaviour change programs.
The priority for the Men’s Social Support Worker will be to provide services to men, however, may provide services to women if there are no male clients or work to perform for male clients.
This is a full time time, maximum term position until 30 June 2025.
What you will bring
You are passionate about your professional practice and specifically about providing person-centred, trauma informed and culturally appropriate services.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline
- Experience providing a trauma-informed response to victims of family violence
- Experience providing “support without collusion” to alleged perpetrators of family violence
- Knowledge of victim safety issues and perpetrator issues in relation to family violence
- Experience in advocacy and support work
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and hold a WA Drivers Licence.
