JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Social Work New Graduate positions available in 2022/23, Monash Health
  • Fixed term Full-time Grade 1 Social Workers (2 positions available)
  • One year new graduate program until December 2023

Have you recently graduated or graduating this year from a Bachelor Social Work or Master Social Work (Qualifying) degree?

If you answered yes, exciting opportunities are now available for enthusiastic new graduate Social Workers to start their careers at Monash Health in 2022/23.

The Social Work Department provides Social Work services across acute and sub-acute inpatient wards (some differences across sites) in a range of areas including general medicine, general surgery, Women’s and Children’s, Emergency, Intensive Care, GEM and Rehabilitation. A weekend service and on-call service is also provided to the acute wards across the bed-based sites.

About the Role

These positions will provide the successful incumbents with the opportunity to work across numerous Monash Health sites which include Monash Medical Centre, the Kingston Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital and to actively participate in the Allied Health New Graduate Program.

About You

You will have experience in conducting psychosocial assessments, intervention plans and discharge planning, and have worked within a multidisciplinary team. You will have demonstrated experience as a worker who is able to work collaboratively with the broader multidisciplinary team and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor Social Work or Master Social Work (Qualifying)
  • Must be eligible for AASW Membership including continuing professional education
  • Preferably, but not essential, experience working in a community health or hospital setting
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Current Working with Children’s Check
