Belmont Private Hospital is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Social Workers who are interested in this exciting career opportunity with our Allied Health team. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality Social Work services to our inpatients. The role will be commencing on 30th January 2023. Casual, Permanent Part-time and Full-time positions available.
About Belmont Private Hospital
Belmont Private Hospital is currently a 150 acute mental health bed hospital with an established reputation for excellence in the delivery of a broad range of acute mental health services, while being an Authorised Mental Health facility under the QLD Mental Health Act, 2016. Belmont offers a range of specialty and sub-specialties to meet the needs of the population.
Upon completion of our hospital expansion late 2022, the Hospital will have a total of 185 beds, making Belmont Private Hospital the largest private mental health facility in Queensland. Our new development will include a new and larger Brisbane Centre for Post Natal Disorders and Women’s Unit, a new Adolescent and Young Adult Unit, expansion of our current Older Person’s Unit, a newly built Trauma and Dissociation Unit and new group program rooms.

Belmont Therapy Programs (BTP) is a team of multidisciplinary professionals including Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Art Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Music Therapists, and Allied Health Assistants. About the Role
The Social Worker will have the following responsibilities:
- Deliver core hospital Social Work services to a broad range of mental health presentations.
- Work collaboratively with team members including other Social Workers, Nursing staff, and Treating Psychiatrists.
- Utilise effective communication skills to optimise clinical outcomes and work collaboratively with clients, other agencies (health, mental health, justice, victim, and disability), government and non-government services.
- Facilitate inpatient and day patient therapeutic groups.

Essential Criteria and Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Social Work
- Eligible for registration with AASW
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering core hospital Social Work services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and autonomously within a team
- Experience with NDIS applications
- Experience working with clients with complex needs in a hospital setting and presenting with severe and persistent mental health issues
- Experience in providing group therapy sessions
