This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Social Worker to join the Social Work Department at Royal North Shore Hospital. You will be joining a dynamic, dedicated and highly skilled department working with culturally and socially diverse patients and their families and carers. Our Social Work department are committed to enhancing the skills and abilities of each individual clinician for professional growth and a range of more exciting opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

 Provide a high quality Social Work service to consumers, carers and families within Royal north Shore Hospital.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:       

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), including the ability to demonstrate a practical application of the AASW Code of Ethics.
  3. Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Proven ability to work independently and to establish effective collaborative working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
  5. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in assessment, counselling and therapy interventions, crisis management, case management, advocacy and Complex discharge planning.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the provision of a social work service to persons, their families and carers with complex social situations including Trauma,  End Of life , Bereavement, Domestic Violence, Child Protection , Guardianship, Aged and disability systems.
  7. Commitment to participation in professional development and quality improvement activities.
  8. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
