Social Worker, Grade 1

About the Role

An opportunity currently exists for an experienced Grade 1 Social Worker to join our team. To fulfil this role, it is essential that you have experience working in an inpatient hospital social work position. The position will be based at either St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) located in Fitzroy or St George’s Health Service (SGHS) located in Kew. The location will depend on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.

To perform this role, you will:

  • Use your skills to undertake multi-dimensional, comprehensive psychosocial assessments, apply clinical reasoning, and formulate appropriate complex intervention and discharge plans
  • Liaise with patients, their families and/or carers to co-ordinate, facilitate and communicate patient treatment and outcomes
  • Actively participate in quality improvement and research activities
  • Provide supervision and participate in clinical education programs as required
  • Promote and develop positive relationships within the department, wider organisation and with community partners

Classifications for Grade 1 Social Workers range from SC12 – AF25 ($65,213.20 – $83,319.60 per annum)

Your Contribution

  • Bachelor Degree or Qualifying Masters in Social Work
  • Social work experience in a hospital inpatient care setting is essential
  • Previous experience working with NDIS participants would be very highly regarded
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain.
