Social Work Team – Warragul Hospital

Permanent Part Time – 28 hours per week

An exciting opportunity is available for a suitably qualified and experienced Social Worker to provide services at the West Gippsland Hospital (Warragul). 

The Social Worker – Grade 3 will join an established team of Social Workers that deliver psychosocial assessment, planning, and the implementation of relevant links and services, for the discharge care needs of patients across the Paediatric and Maternity units. Within the Grade 3 role there will be opportunities to enhance your skills in the supervision of staff and students, and to be involved in targeted quality activities to improve outcomes for patients and families.

This is a permanent part time ongoing position of 28 hours per week, exact hours and weekly days of work will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Regular supervision for this role is provided as well as support from the existing Social Work team.

IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond. The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100kms east of Melbourne.
