About the Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (ECASA)
ECASA provides free counselling and advocacy services to adults and young people/children in the Eastern Region who have experienced sexual assault recently and in the past. The model of care includes the provision of crisis and short to medium term counselling, group work, professional consultation and professional and community education programs.
About the role
This role is part of the 2023 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program.
The Program provides a dedicated pathway for new and recent graduates into the family violence, sexual assault and primary prevention sectors and supports graduates to gain practical skills and knowledge while also receiving additional learning and development support.
In addition to state-wide learning and networking opportunities, graduates are supported by a dedicated Learning and Development Facilitator and have access to learning and development opportunities with other graduates throughout the year. This includes an induction session at the commencement of the Program and monthly community of practice sessions. Graduate’s agencies also have access to a funding allocation to support ongoing learning and development needs over the course of the Program.
If you are relocating for the Program, you may also be eligible for a $1,500 contribution towards costs associated with your relocation.
To meet the eligibility requirements for the 2023 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program, graduates must have completed all course requirements (or will do so before commencing in the Program) or have completed their qualifications within the last two years.

ECASA welcomes applications from an appropriately qualified Social Worker to join our counselling team. The rewarding role require a strong commitment to trauma-informed collaborative practice and are responsible for the provision of individual counselling services as well as group work, consultation and professional and community education programs. You would be part of a supportive, experienced and hardworking team with a well embedded clinical supervision and professional development program.
The role is based at our Ringwood East site, and there may also be a requirement for intake as well as after-hours on-call duties.
About you
To be successful in this role you should have the following:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Social Work
- Understanding of the work that Centres Against Sexual Assault provide and the CASA philosophy
- Familiarity with trauma frameworks and treatment modalities in the area of family violence and sexual assault
- An understanding of the dynamics and impact of sexual assault related to adults and young people/children
- A respectful, compassionate, innovative and reflective approach with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those impacted by sexual assault
- A strong team commitment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
