About the role

Primary Mental Health Team (PMHT) clinicians play a critical role in providing assessment, treatment and consultancy support to consumers who experience a ‘high prevalence’ mental health disorder, including but not restricted to depression and anxiety.

Working closely with the consumer and their referring GP, PMHT clinicians undertake a caseload, offering assessment and treatment recommendations, and short to medium term episodes of care.

While based in Warrnambool, this role will deliver support at the SWH Camperdown Site with transport provided.

 

Position overview

  • Part-time (24 hours per week), On-going position
  • Social Worker Grade 3
  • Salary Range: $99,606.00 – $113,796.80 pro rata, plus superannuation

This position is eligible for an incentive payment for rent, childcare, relocation costs and more, as part of the new workforce and incentive grants program administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).

 

What you bring

The successful applicant will have the ability to demonstrate excellent skills and broad experience in mental health clinical services, including a proven ability to work within a team based multi-disciplinary model.

A working knowledge of Recovery Oriented practices, trauma informed care, current mental health trends, legislation and relevant policy directions of mental health services is also essential for this role.

Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team, as well as an ability to work with limited direction, be self-motivated, and provide effective problem-solving and negotiation skills is a must.

You will also be a Social Worker with a Degree in Social Work & eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
