What you will be doing:
This is a great position with the NorthWest Metro Joint Child Protection Service based at Blacktown but employed by NBMLHD. This is a fast paced, crisis response position for an enthusiastic and experienced Violence Abuse and Neglect Professional looking to work with a great health team in providing support to children/young people and their families.
The JCPRP HC is a position within the Integrated Violence Prevention and Response Service (IVPRS). The position has a wide scope of responsibility and requires the JCPRP HC to undertake critical work with a high level of professional knowledge and the exercise of professional judgement in a complex clinical setting. It requires a high level of clinical skill and expertise in the field of child protection and sexual assault and requires the incumbent to have a demonstrated understanding of the various policies and legislations impacting these fields.

Selection Criteria to be addressed:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work with eligibility for membership with the AASW.
- Extensive demonstrated clinical experience in relation to child protection intervention and crisis intervention, counselling, advocacy and case management including a capacity to engage with children, young people, families and communities in cases involving a high level of risk.
- Extensive demonstrated knowledge of health service systems and services and referral options for children and young people who have experienced criminal and serious sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and their non-offending family members.
- Significant demonstrated knowledge of child protection issues, including understanding of the legislation, guidelines, government policies and legal issues surrounding sexual assault and physical abuse and neglect of children.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and maintain relationships with interagency partners and key stakeholders in relation to developing therapeutic responses.
- Demonstrated high-level written, computer and verbal communication skills, including an ability to write reports and problem solve and maintain a high clinical and administrative work-load.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in working with diverse communities, including previous experience working with Aboriginal communities and/or demonstrated high level professional knowledge & understanding of issues surrounding child sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect of children and family violence in Aboriginal communities.
- Current valid unrestricted Drivers Licence and a willingness to travel for work related purposes. This includes travel across NBM and WSLHD.
