This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Relocation package that includes the following

  • Attraction incentive paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance of up to $10,000 for the first 12-months
  • Retention incentive of up to $5,000 thereafter annually
  • PLUS 3 months accommodation assistance (e.g. rent payments, mortgage re-payments, payments for commercial accommodation)

 

*All payments and reimbursements made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.

 

Remuneration: $70 944 – $82 899 Per annum + 11% Super + Salary Packaging + Rural Incentives

About the job:

  • The Counselling Team are part of the Children, Young People and Families Service. This temporary position is located at Taree Community Health with the flexibility to work across the Lower Mid-North Coast. You will work alongside other Psychologists and Social Workers as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, meeting the Counselling needs of Children, Young People and their Families in our area.
  • This position will see you providing safe, compassionate, person-centred care, evidence-based assessment/interventions, health promotion and education. Our Counsellors are also part of multidisciplinary clinics, offered by the Children, Young People and Families Service.
  • You will be part of a supportive Counselling team and wider Paediatric Allied Health Team, within the Children, Young People and Families Service. The successful applicant will receive orientation and training while in the role. We encourage and support both internal and external support, with regular monthly clinical supervision and the completion of mandatory education requirements.

Requirements:

Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Social Workers – hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Psychologists –must hold a four-year degree in psychology, being a three-year degree with a fourth-year honours in psychology, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, and be registered (general) or eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  • Candidates will have experience working with children, young people and families/carers, as a Social Worker of Psychologist. Skills in teamwork are essential as is the ability to adapt your communication style to target your audience.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for a busy case load of clients, who often experience psychosocial complexities. The role requires you to use evidence-based assessments and interventions to meet the needs of the clients and their families/carers. Our areas high indigenous population requires candidates to have a good understanding of Closing The Gap and to be working towards cultural competence.

 
Rural Incentives:

Attraction incentives will be paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance on top of your base salary.

Other forms of payment/package options (where you are eligible) need to be negotiated with the Convenor and may include**: 

  • Additional annual professional development days (up to 5 more per year).
  • Additional personal leave (up to 5 more per year).
  • Computer/internet reimbursement (e.g. laptop, wi-fi costs).
  • Return airfare to and from your work base (or equivalent motor vehicle allowance) so you can still visit family and friends.

 **The total value of your incentive package would remain the same. Employees are responsible for seeking independent financial advice before accepting an Attraction and Retention Incentive package as part of their offer.
